IOP FAQs
Yes, we are currently accepting new patients.
We see patients who are 18 years and older. There is a Child OCD Clinic at UCSF, but they are not accepting new patients at this time. Their wait list is closed. They are only accepting internal referrals from UCSF doctors for the clinic. Please see the External Resources page for more resources.
For the clinic, we currently take these insurances listed down below. This list is different from the insurances our IOP can take. For a list of the insurers our IOP accepts, please click here.
Aetna
Blue Cross (if administered by a 3rd party insurance, then we are not contracted); and we’re not in-network with EPO plans.
Cigna
Health Net (if administered by Managed Health Network, we are also contracted)
Kaiser (referral is required from Kaiser)
Magellan Behavioral Health (through Blue Shield; we are not contracted with Blue Shield directly)
Medicare (if policy is a Medicare Advantage Plan, then we are only contracted with Managed Health Network Medicare Plans and Kaiser Medicare Plans)
Tricare
United Behavioral Health/Optum (through United Healthcare; we are not contracted with United Healthcare directly)
Our building does not currently accept MediCal as a primary insurance and we cannot accept self-pay from patients who have MediCal. If you have another insurance as your primary and MediCal as your secondary, we may be able to see you. Our insurance specialist will be able to tell us more once your coverage is checked.
Our clinic appointments are currently through Zoom.
No, our IOP sees patients who are 18 years and older.
The IOP is only offered in person.

We can take some insurances that are out of network. Depending on your out of network benefits, you may have to pay out of pocket entirely or out of pocket to meet your deductible and then pay a reduced amount. Please note that our building does not currently take Medi-Cal as the primary insurance and does not take self-pay if you have Medi-Cal.
